The Toronto Blue Jays made some roster cuts with Opening Day quickly approaching.
The Jays assigned catcher CJ Stubbs, outfielder Yohendrick Pinango, outfielder RJ Schreck and infielder Josh Kasevich to minor league camp, the team announced on Friday.
Kasevich, a shortstop, had a very impressive spring with the big league club. He had 36 at-bats and hit .306/.375/.500 with a .875 OPS.
The 25-year-old also crushed a home run, drove in five runs and stole two bases.
Stubbs went 3-for-11, Pinango went 4-for-25 with a homer and Schreck went 3-for-21.
Schreck played for Israel in the World Baseball Classic, getting two hits with one home run in four games.
The Jays open the regular season on March 27 against the Athletics.
